Game Changer of the Plains
Horse power is the theme for this painting which celebrates the impact of the horse on the western plains. Introduced to North America by the Spaniards, the horse reshaped life on the plains, transforming Indigenous cultures through its impact on hunting, travel, and warfare. Noble and powerful, the horse endures as an enduring symbol of the West—an agent of change whose legacy still runs across the landscape.
